EPISODE 7

It is so strange that someone lived with me for four days and I didn’t talk anything to them.

One day while giving food Uttara asked me-“bhaiya , you didn’t talked anything to bhabhi?”
I suddenly lifted my head listening this . I was curious to know why Uttara asked this but pretending to be unexcited I answered – ‘NO’
She stared me silently for some seconds and then said-“will you do another marriage?”
“why not! With one marriage you all have destroyed my life and now do second one.” I answered her irritated.
Then from nowhere it came in my mind how much hurt might be Ragini from our behavior! We never thought from her perspective. Did she being hurt have written that if I am not happy with her , I can happily do second marriage? Yes, how many time we have heard of such cases.

I was lost in my thoughts when she again said-“aacha bhaiya , ek baat bataye?” from her tone it seemed that she wants to disclose some secret.

With my approval she was ready to tell something when bhabhi entered in the hall. Upon seeing her Uttara immediately stopped what she was saying.
She was looking tired as she is six-month pregnant.
“Uttara, I have kept some washed clothes on tap. Go and hang them on terrace. Uttara immediately left from there.

Sitting in font me she started counting something on her fingers. “ devar ji how much days are left for Diwali .”
I answered carelessly-“ may be twenty days.”
“hmm , so whole eight months will be completed will be completed of your marriage this diwali.”

I became shocked. Whole eight months have passed! Time passed so quickly. God knows how must be Ragini in this eight months. Didn’t she wrote a single letter to me in these eight months? huh, why will she write , her ego will not come in between? First because of my stubbornness she was not called from her mayka as I insisted everyone that her presence will affect my studies.

At evening I was called by babuji in his room.
“Sanskar diwali is coming. This is first diwali of new bahu after marriage. People will talk nonsense if she will not be here on diwali. And then badi bahu could not do much now and you already know about your mother’s disease. If she will be here then work will be easy.” He said.
I answered-‘babuji app Laksh ko bhej dejiye , hm nahi jayege usko lene.’

His tone changed suddenly. He said sternly-“ laksh ko bejh dijiye. Your health becomes unwell listenting her name. she is a tigeress that will eat you. I will also see how many days you will not talk to her. I had already said to behave well with her but you didn’t listen to me.”

I quickly got out of the room with arising in me.
What they say do it? Will say to do marriage , I will do marriage. Will say to bring her, I will bring her. Are , if you want to bring bahu then bring her. Why are you asking me? Have ever asked me before doing anything? Am I the only one left to bring her? Why can’t laksh go? Huh chota chota krke bigaad dalo. What is my going ? you all will suffer later. I will also show whether I will talk to her or not? This is atleast not in their hand like marriage.
