Neel tells Kusum he feels completely unwelcome in the house — as if no one accepts him and he was never meant to have a family. He recalls the humiliations: being slapped on his birthday, his friends being driven away, and now his own disgrace. He reminds them that today is his birthday again, yet only Ishana’s friends turned up; Ishana laughed and introduced him offhand as her “cousin brother,” while Mangal treats Ishana like a daughter and leaves him feeling like an outsider.
Mangal snaps back, telling Neel to stop playing the victim and reminding him she knows the mistake he made. Neel retorts that she continues to berate him and announces he will leave the house. Kusum intervenes immediately, grabbing his arm and pleading with him to stay — “You’re the eldest son of this family, and you will stay here.” Neel insists he’s the cause of problems and must go. He points out how Mangal threw his friends out for their mischief and now seems to be doing the same to him. Kusum begs him not to leave and criticizes Ishana for introducing him as a cousin. Mangal tries to justify Ishana’s behaviour, but before the argument escalates, Adit cuts in: “Enough. Neel will stay here, and that’s final.” Kusum ushers Neel back inside.
Later, Kusum admits to Mangal that slapping Neel in front of his friends was wrong. Mangal replies that Neel is to blame for what happened with Ishana. Kusum defends him as perhaps only childish mischief and suggests that time away might have left him without proper guidance. She urges Mangal to stop treating Neel as an outsider and reminds her that he is her biological son. Adit backs Kusum, accusing Mangal of double standards — quick to excuse Ishana, harsh with Neel. Ishana, distraught, slips away in tears.
Sowmya tries to comfort Neel with ice cream, but he refuses. She tells him it’s hard to stay angry forever and sympathizes with how exhausting Mangal’s lectures must be. Sowmya encourages him to apologize once — she says that a single apology will settle things and win the family back. Persuaded, Neel agrees.
Neel kneels before Mangal and offers a heartfelt apology, promising not to make the same mistakes again. Sowmya beams to Kusum, proud that Neel has “done the right thing.” Mangal, suspicious at first, challenges his sincerity; Neel insists he is earnest, admits he hurt Ishana, and vows to obey Mangal’s rules. Kusum presses Mangal to forgive him. Meanwhile, Sowmya goes to Ishana and urges her to leave her room and join the family for the birthday, reminding her they all love her.
After persistent pleading, Mangal relents — she forgives Neel, embraces him, and warns him sternly not to repeat his wrongdoing. Ishana emerges, witnesses the hug, and greets it with a cutting clap. She confronts Mangal, accusing her of changing sides and saying she never expected her mother to behave this way. Kusum explains that Neel apologized; Ishana refuses to accept it, insisting Neel publicly humiliated her in front of her friends and shouldn’t be forgiven so lightly. Mangal responds that parents forgive their children and asks Neel to apologize to Ishana — but Neel refuses, saying, “Mom, I got your forgiveness. I won’t apologize to Ishana.” Ashamed and enraged, Ishana spits out her disappointment: “You always stood for what’s right, but now you’re supporting your son. I hate you.”
Unseen by most, Sowmya quietly pours acid on a houseplant, watching it sizzle. She smiles coldly and whispers her threat: “I’ll use your kids as my pawns, Mangal. I’ll make you lonely, just like I once was.” The stage is set — outward reconciliation masks simmering betrayals and a schemer plotting to turn the family against itself.
Precap: Mangal informs Adit that she’s decided to move to Mussoorie along with the children. However, Kusum intervenes, saying, “You may take Ishana with you, but Neel will stay here with us.”
