Sowmya reveals to Ishana that she’s getting married to Kapil and mentions the dupatta might be part of the engagement. Ishana’s friends tease her about having two mothers now, upsetting her. After they leave, Sowmya remarks that she didn’t know Ishana was unaware of Mangal’s marriage and mocks Mangal for remarrying at her age.
Mangal returns home and notices Ishana looking disturbed. She questions Sowmya, who admits that Ishana is upset because of her. When Mangal asks Ishana what’s wrong, Ishana shows the dupatta and confronts her about marrying Kapil. Mangal tries to explain that she intended to tell her the truth but failed. Ishana questions why she’s marrying at this age and accuses her of always being forced into things, including leaving them for six months. She adds that her friends mocked her, saying she’ll now have two fathers. Akshat joins in, innocently supports Mangal, and says Kapil is his best friend. Ishana dismisses Akshat as a child who doesn’t understand the embarrassment and storms off. Unbeknownst to them, Shanti overhears everything through a call.
As Mangal attempts to follow Ishana, Adit stops her. He criticizes her for how the marriage is affecting Ishana, saying she might fool Akshat but not Ishana. When Mangal says she didn’t tell Ishana, Adit demands to know how she found out. He notices the engagement items and questions why they were brought to his home. Kusum explains that Pratima brought them. Adit accuses Pratima of flaunting her wealth and mocks Mangal. Mangal retorts that she had asked Adit to let her speak to the children, but he refused, and says she regrets listening to him. Adit accuses her of blaming him. Mangal then reminds him that she’s marrying Kapil only after their divorce, unlike him who married Sowmya while still married to her. She walks away.
Meanwhile, at Kapil’s office, his staff celebrate his upcoming wedding. A colleague tries to feed sweets to Adit, who lashes out. Kapil arrives and invites everyone to the wedding, asking them to add their names to the guest list. In protest, Adit crosses his name off the list and leaves.
Later, Mangal notices Kusum avoiding Kapil and decides to talk to him. At Adit’s home, Lipika arrives to collect the shagun and is shocked to find the place in disarray.
At the engagement venue, Mangal tries to speak to Kapil but is intercepted by Shanti. When Mangal expresses concern over her children’s disapproval of the marriage, Shanti brushes it off, saying the children will understand in time. As Mangal argues, Shanti reminds her of the promise she made—then suddenly faints.
The episode ends.

Mangal needs to give far more punishing verbal takedowns of the arrogant, assaholic Adit as well as to the often-unpleasant Kusum. When he goes into his temper tantrums of screaming rage at her, she should remind him that shouting it louder and louder does not make what he says true. Then after another of his multiple volleys of foul-breath shouting, she should deliver a famous Clint Eastwood line from the “Dirty Harry” movies: Mangal: “Adit, I have just one thing to say…. ” Adit: “What’s that, Mangal!?” Mangal: “Adit, your mouthwash ain’t making it!”) It is sometimes forgotten that Kusum and Gayatri (Lakshmi’s mother-in-law) are sisters, and both of them have made life a living hell for both Mangal and Lakshmi. It is good to see that Lakshmi no longer obeys the disgusting Gayatri, one of the most vile mothers-in-law ever to grace South Asian television screens.
