Mohsin Khan, a beloved figure in the television industry, recently appeared as a guest on the latest episode of our Behind The Success segment. During a candid conversation, the actor made some surprising revelations, including the fact that he suffered a mild heart attack last year. He also discussed his decision to take an extended break from work following his successful stint on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
In the interview, Mohsin Khan shared that August 12 marked a significant day for him—it was the day he began working in the industry, and coincidentally, the day he completed 10 years in the business. Out of these 10 years, he worked consistently for seven and a half years and took a break for the remaining two and a half years. Reflecting on why he decided to step away from the limelight after the immense success of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, he explained, “Mashallah, I have done 1800 episodes, so I felt like taking a break after that.”
While the first year of his break was planned, Mohsin revealed that his health condition forced him to extend the hiatus. Opening up about the challenges he faced, Khan shared, “I developed a fatty liver. Last year, I had a mild heart attack, which I never spoke about before. I was hospitalized for a while.”
He went on to mention that although his health has since improved, the complications weakened his immune system, causing him to fall ill frequently. The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor also revealed that he was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. He humorously remarked, “This reminded me of the dialogue from Queen that it would have been better to just drink.”
