Recently, the popular social media influencer was summoned by the Lucknow unit of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case related to the infamous snake venom incident. Elvish Yadav was seen outside the ED office in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, today. While details about the internal proceedings have not been disclosed, the IANS news agency reported that Yadav is likely to be questioned about money he received from YouTube India and other financial transactions. The investigation is being conducted by CVO officers, who will examine all aspects of the case. A video of Yadav outside the ED office was also shared by the news agency.
According to News18, Elvish Yadav evaded questions about the charges against him, stating that he would only know the full details after speaking with the ED officials. He also mentioned that he had submitted all the information the ED had requested and could not keep repeating the same details.
The controversy began when police raided a rave party in Sector 49, Noida, where they found nine snakes, including cobras, and a plastic bottle containing 20 milliliters of snake venom. Following the raid, officials from People for Animals (PFA) filed an FIR against Elvish Yadav and five other individuals involved in the case.
Yadav faces charges under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Wildlife Protection Act, and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Despite these serious allegations, the YouTuber is currently out on bail.
