COLORS TV Joins Forces with ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ Initiative to Tackle Girl Child Abandonment in New Show ‘Doree’

COLORS TV has teamed up with the Ministry of Women and Child Development for a groundbreaking collaboration aimed at addressing the critical issue of girl child abandonment. The initiative, aligned with the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, introduces the new fiction show ‘Doree,’ designed to raise awareness about the societal challenges faced by abandoned girl children.

Recognizing television’s influential role in shaping societal perspectives, COLORS TV seeks to utilize its platform to contribute to positive change and challenge gender biases against girl children. As part of this collaboration, the channel will not only launch a primetime show dedicated to the subject but also actively promote the 24-hour emergency toll-free Childline India helpline number (1098) for immediate assistance related to abandoned girl children nationwide.

“Doree,” airing every Monday to Friday at 9:00 pm on COLORS, aims to spark widespread conversations and increase awareness regarding the issue of girl child abandonment. The show’s narrative centers around the journey of a six-year-old girl named Doree, bravely confronting a patriarchal society to assert her rights. The cast includes renowned television actors such as Amar Upadhyay portraying Ganga Prasad, Sudhaa Chandran as Kailashi Devi Thakur, and the young talent Mahi Bhanushali in the role of Doree.

Honorable Smt.
