Ragini looked at the icecream before her. It was pistachio choco icecream. It was his favorite her laksh’s favorite. It was the first thing that he ever shared with her. That day it kind of made her giddy because unknowingly she had started to fall for him the moment….
Back in past
Ragini was sitting in her class stacking up all the paperworks that her class had to submit. They had abandoned her with the works. If it was any other day she too would have postponed but today was the deadline. She sighed as she picked up the papers scattered on the ground.
Few Minutes Before
Ragini was arranging the paperworks when she saw cathy and her friends entering. Cathy nudged ragini to a push sending all papers flying over. Luckily ragini caught hold of a desk edge and prevented herself from falling down. What the hell dont you have eyes muttered ragini. Cathy said “Aww Sorry my poor eyes doesnt see such low life’s. It would be better if could get your eyes checked for princess syndrome retorted ragini as cathy walked out with her gang. What’s with this girl does she think she s some kind of rotten princess. The next time she does anything like this she will be facing my fist thought ragini as she bended down to pick the papers.
Ragini was picking the papers she looked up to see Laksh before her. He offered to help her. She nodded it was better than herself clearing this afterall it was his girlfriend who caused a mess out for nothing. Ragini’s breath hitched as her hands brushed against laksh while reaching for the paper. She moved and started calming her heart that alarmingly rised upon that touch. It was because she didnt touch any other guy other than her family members. That’s it she concluded as he handed the paper to her. She gave him a smile thanking him for his help.
Laksh Pov
What was that jittery feeling with that touch. Anyways I shouldnt care more about it. Her smile was heavenly. Was she really a good pretender. I asked her why she was working alone she said its because of all others have abandoned. What was she thinking of herself an angel. That was a disguise his mind chided. No one can be too good.
He sat beside her and started arranging those papers. She seems suprised that he decided to help her. He himself was. They started sorting and completed them. After coming out of the staff cabin she asked him whether he eats icecream? He nodded as he saw her going to the cafe , she said my favorite is chocolate yours??? . He said pistachio choco that’s my favorite . She nodded as she brought the icecream for them. She gave him his icecream. She began unwrapping hers and started eating it. He sighed as he walked alongside hers as he ate his icecream.
At a Distance
Cathy and her friends saw laksh and ragini walking as they were eating icecream. A guy rushed towards them causing ragini to stumble over. She was about to fall when laksh holded her hand and prevented her from falling down. Raghav who was noticing this all got irritated as he had liked ragini ever since he layed his eyes over her.
Ragini heart fluttered and she steadied herself without breaking her eye contact with him . She was out of her trance as cathy voice squealed. She walked away muttering a “thank you laksh”. What was that in his eyes ragini wondered.
Laksh Pov
“Thank you laksh” she said as she broke my trance. What did just happen now? Im sure I saw something in her eyes but not clear. Baby cathy’s voice echoed as she came near. Why would you roam with such a low life she said. She’s not worth it let’s go she said as she grabbed him by his arms. He went along with her.
Later that day
At the cafetaria cathy gave her friends a huge party for her and laksh getting together. Laksh smiled and enjoyed the lunch. Cathy asked laksh to feed her their friends gushed as laksh fed her a piece of gulab jamun. They continued their lunch . A commotion started in the cafe. When laksh raised over to see what the commotion was. He saw ms.cutiespecs standing in the middle. He witnessed as Cathy’s friend poured something over her and refused to apologise. Ms.cutiespecs sighed as she poured curry over that girl and said sorry i didn’t see and went away.
woww I never knew cutiespecs could actually speak back. I thought she was nevermind. Raghav went to ragini and gave her set of tissues. He smiled at her. Ahhh the damsel in distress is that what she was playing right now. But to my suprise she refused them and walked away. was I too biased when I judged her. Shiv said me that professor called me and he’s near the auditorium. As I reached near the auditorium i saw ms.cutiespecs standing and muttering,”What do those stuck up girls think of themselves and the next time Im gonna throw that over her head.” I smiled as I looked at her rambling . She stopped as she looked at him. She looked flustered as I gave her my handkerchief to wipe that curry. She took it and left the place thanking me.
I smiled as i left the place. Shiv smiled at me as he saw me approaching. He asked me what the professor said. Oh crap I have completely forgotten about it. Nothing much I said as I smacked him over his head. Cathy and her friends joined them as they headed to their classrooms.
Present
Ragini ate the icecream and saw her image in the mirror. She had a icecream mustache. She opened her drawer to take a kerchief. As she wiped her mouth she saw it was laksh handkerchief the one he gave to her in the curry incident. She never returned it not because she didnt find time but because she didnt want to. She had collected his things just like his memories. A tear slipped her eye as her heart reminisced her love for him .
