Chapter XII

She took her last breath in my arms…..” Riddhima said with a faraway look on her face.

She turned back to everyone on the table who was looking at her concerned.

” It was horrible, i broke down that night , Uma aunty was like a mother figure to me, after everyone i cared about were no more. She was my role model, i always wanted to be like her…“

That’s when Vansh realised why he always saw his mother in Riddhima.

” so i decided to go undercover and live like a middle class orphan in a hostel so i could go on with my mission. Sejal was one of my childhood friends, so she knew about my mission. but when she died… i- i…blamed myself for dragging her into all this mess” she looked so sad and vulnerable, her eyes full of dejection.

None of the Raisinghanias had ever seen her like this.

“Anyways after i started living a life of a simple physiotherapist, after a couple of weeks i still didn’t get a lead and i felt ,as if this might actually get me no where and i was about to drop my plan when i saw..“

Flashback

Kabir and Vansh fighting

“I had seen Kabir before also,he lived near my hostel so i decided befriend him so i could know Vansh from his point of view.“

“There were days…. when i found Kabir’s behaviour doubtful and times when i felt he was totally obsessed with Vansh and his money“

“one day i was just passing by when i saw him hug an older women and call her “mom” that’s when i found his behaviour suspicious. He had told me he was an orphan and had no one to call family.

I researched and found out that she was no other than Anupriya Raisinghania your step mom“

“After noticing Kabir’s unhealthy obsession with Vansh and after Anupriya’s secret rendezvous with Kabir i put two and two together and decided to use Kabir for my mission.

“Every thing went exactly as i planned till Vansh forced me to marry him.“

Dadi and Siya glared at Vansh.

“What?! I liked her, okay! stop looking at me like that” Vansh said with a shy smile.

Riddhima rolls her eyes and continues.

“that was never part of my plan i never wanted to become a part of your family i just wanted to come as a physiotherapist, treat Siya and find out the murders of uma aunty.“

“but then i found out about Ragini from kabir ,i had known Ragini for years in high school. She was sweet and confident girl but her want for richness always overpowered her good side. i had act as if i was interested because i knew Anupriya would always go and update Kabir about my progress.”

“and if i wasn’t useful he would harm me“

This was another shoker for the Raisinghanias they never thought Riddhima would know Ragini let alone be friends with her

“like i said i never planned on getting married to Vansh but as time passed i fell in love with him but destiny wanted to play games with me, Kabir was able to frame Vansh for Ragini’s murder and our dear Mr Raisinghania fakes his death and comes back as Vihaan. In between all this i came to know that i was right about Anupriya and Kabir being connected to Uma aunty’s murder. She had killed uma aunty for money and property.

“she always acted as a perfect mother for all of you“

“the day the duo confessed their crimes, my phone was off because of low battery so- I couldn’t record their talk, but after knowing aunty’s murderer… i was here only to save everyone from them. “

“the day you left me in Shimla, vansh- i came back only to check on your safety“

“i knew kabir would try to kill you all for property“

but when i entered i saw a completely different scene….. to be honest- i was amused…. people acting like they didn’t know me-, Ahana enjoying being Mrs Vansh Raisinghania, without knowing what all was in store for her but when Vansh accused me for torturing Siya….. something inside me broke.“

“i haven’t had the best childhood-…. seeing my parents get murdered , but one fine day some one accuses me for attacking one of my best friends and sister…. dude… I. actually. felt .bad” Riddhima said with a hollow chuckle

Anyway all i can say is I was biggest mastermind and you all played the game somewhat exactly how i thought” She ends with a smirk.

All this while Kabir was sitting silently but then suddenly… he burnt with fury, he jumped from his chair and shouted “RIDDHIMA how dare-….”
