Covid 19 pandemic was not easy for anyone. Gaurav Bajaj lost his furry friend during the pandemic. His beloved dog Loy was with him for 12 years. The actor shared a strong bond with him. In an interview with BT, he says, “I spent the lockdown period in my hometown, Indore, and got to spend quality time with my parents, wife (Sakshi), son Vyom and Loy. In 12 years of having him in the family, I had never got to spend so much time at a stretch with him. We grew closer and his routine became an important part of my schedule. Vyom, too, grew extremely fond of Loy as Sakshi was in Indore during her pregnancy. I think he has taken after me when it comes to our love for canines. Loy would accompany Vyom and me on our morning and evening walks and outdoor activities. By the time Vyom was around two months old, Loy had become so protective of him that he would not allow any unknown person near him! So, you can understand, it was extremely difficult and painful for both my son and me when he passed away.”
Finally, Gaurav has brought home another dog for Vyom. “It was a lot of deliberation, but I finally got another dog. Losing a dog isn’t easy to overcome. I didn’t get the same breed, since I didn’t want to replace Loy. I got a Great Dane. I waited for two and a half months for him to be born. His father is the leader of dog shows and winner for athletic activities like running for three consecutive years.”
Gaurav has named his new friend Nawab as he used to call Loy, nawab. Talking about the bond between Vyom and Nawab he says, “Vyom has started talking a bit. So, he points at Nawab and goes ’bow bow’, which is so cute. He also tries to Nawab by his name. I guess the bond also stems from the fact that they share their birth month. Both were born in December, but just a year apart.”
