The Indian television has given hit long running soaps which started in early 2000s. From Kyunki…., Kahaani…., Kasautti…. And all the K starrers, many hit shows used to run for many years and did not bore the viewers. The viewers were impressed by get the daily dose of entertainment of their favorite actors and good twists in homely shows. Still, Star Plus leads the entertainment channels by the daily soaps Diya Aur Baati Hum, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Saath Nibhana Saathiya being the most stable one and running since late 2000s. While other shows like Zee’s Qubool Hai and Colors’ Balika Vadhu are also running since long, the fan following is still the same for such shows. The actors still convince the viewers by the new twists and grab their interest.

With changing times, the small screen industry is bringing finite shows concept to bring diversity in the entertainment and not dragging shows too much that viewers quit watching it. Few finite shows have earned good fan following by maintaining interest since start to end, and yet had to shut because of its episode limit. The weekend has brought some interesting episodic concepts, and one can see the entire story in just one episode. The finite shows concept is surely working. Many shows are ending and new ones are taking the slots. This makes it evident that viewers won’t be bored of any one serving, when many production houses are there to bring something new for them every time. We would like to know by this poll about the viewer’s choice. Would you prefer finite shows over long running hit soaps? Let us know in this poll. You can mention your favorite show and the category it falls in, to state your opinion.

      everyone have there own choice
i will prefer finite no of episodes in a shows nd if serial is very interesting it should come back with another season with new idea, new concept but with same cast

      • Ravi's fan on July 11, 2015 10:56 pm

    2. chatty on July 10, 2015 10:53 pm

finite ones are better bcoz if the serial runs for long then always their comes humsakals and too many divorces and marriages and sometimes it even loses the track on which it started

    3. Kristelle on July 10, 2015 10:54 pm

Yes so there would be NO dragging of plots!!!!

    4. emraan haasmi on July 10, 2015 11:18 pm

    5. rithushree on July 10, 2015 11:25 pm

    6. Gungun on July 10, 2015 11:58 pm

I prefer finite shows to long running shows. i loved colors Rangrasiya and Beintehaan! they both had fresh concept and amazing storyline with amazing characters! In long run shows i loved Geet on starone and madhubala on colors! other than these two , i hardly like any long running shows! Finite no of shows keep the story on track and interesting!

    7. ms_parud on July 11, 2015 7:55 pm

Rangrasiya ,beinethaa and madhubala were all super shows parud and zaya were absolutely amazing dey completely bowled over the audience wiv their acting madhubala was great @ first but then it began to drag on overall i think rangrasiya and beinethaa should come bak onto our screens and finally jazbaa ka rang on holi day that special episode was enthusing and enthralling looking forward to seeing them bak on our screens as different characters in the near future

    8. megha on July 11, 2015 8:30 pm

      i love finite shows…
some people here were crying hard for nauc n now commenting they like finite shows how hypocrates?

      • Shanaya on July 12, 2015 7:33 pm

We want a sequel for NAUC that’s why

      • richa (titli) on July 18, 2015 8:10 pm

oh really u think so u also might hav cried for something loved in your life which was taken away ………….. u must hav felt bad inspite of u having diff openuin about things related to that… ur openion is sooo…. unoptimistic

    9. Ravi's fan on July 11, 2015 10:53 pm

Can’t say anything cause I prefer both finite n long running shows bcause it depends on the storyline, viewers whether they like it or not n now actors n actresses too are an important part for some might get hooked to one show only bcause there’s a fav actor…. Finite shows generally make a lasting impression on the audience while long running shows are often criticized for dragging it unnecessarily..

    10. malvika on July 11, 2015 11:11 pm

Finite shows r d best dey ve charm n gud storyline unlike long runnin one dey loose charm concept n story becomes too boring

    11. Swapna on July 12, 2015 10:43 am

I also prefer finite shows and some shows like gumarh in v channel which r like awareness shows and I like to watch Ek Hasina thi another season

    12. MaxRoyal on July 12, 2015 11:56 am

FINITE. Avoids disappointment and frustration full stop.

    13. richa (titli) on July 12, 2015 12:04 pm

WELL I PREFER FINITE SHOWS AS THEY KEEP THEIR USERS GLUED TO THEM TILL THE END AND THEY ARE EASY TO FOLLOW AND WE CAN WATCH ALMOST ALL THE EPISODES WIHTOUT MISSING MANY EPI AND WE WOULD BE KNOWING THE STORY FROM THE BEGNING TILL THE END WEREAS IN LONG AND DRAGGED BORINGGGG………. 😛 SHOWS THEY R NOT EASY TO FOLLOW AND IN TODAYS COMPETITIVE COMMERRICAL WORLD WHO HAS TIME TO FOLLOW A SERIAL FOR 6-7 YEARS OR MORE THE STORYLINE LOOSES ITS BASE, AND CHARM FOR VEIWERS AND JUST RUN A USELESS PLOT TESTING VEIWERS………..

    14. Winni on July 12, 2015 2:38 pm

Finite shows are far better than the long running (actually Dragging)
Some serials go off track…they lose their concept, the basis they were actually made. The relationship between characters change (not in a good way)
Most serials start with a fight between the lead pair…they marry..fall in love…again fight or someone comes in between them…divorce….realise their love again…try to unite when some other problem comes up…quite BORING!!! Whats is the point?

      • richa (titli) on July 18, 2015 8:12 pm

        ryt we want new concepts

    15. mona (ash) on July 12, 2015 3:50 pm

only finite shows r having some new concepts so i choose them

    16. susi... on July 12, 2015 3:53 pm

Yup finite shows r the best….

    17. wins on July 12, 2015 7:34 pm

Finite shows idea is the best choice. As there r short films trend, there should be even short serials. They definitely make the viewers to follow the show regularly. . And they minimise frustration to the audience. If the finite show is hit then take season 2 with better story line. Husbands will b the most happiest persons if these kind of shows r started.

    18. Shanaya on July 12, 2015 7:36 pm

Finite shows are really good… Long running shows usually lose their concept/plot after some time which makes them boring where as finite shows never lose their concept and makes fans happy 🙂

      • richa (titli) on July 18, 2015 8:11 pm

yesss wen the real motiv of show story is finished the message is conveyed to the users y to unnecessarily drag them

    19. zarin on July 21, 2015 11:35 pm

I personally like be intehaa was my face finite show kash another season was made

    20. rosy on July 21, 2015 11:54 pm

Wen a serial runs for years dont writters 4 get wat exactly de wana show…..de start a theme,,,de divert frm dat if de wana add more character..new n useless twists n turns r shwn nd da main motive of da shw gets hidden undr all faulty plotlines n stupid characters….dats y finite shows wid new n innovative ideas shd take da place….nd moreovr in long running shws to gain trp writters sumtym use same plots….black magic,,memory loss,,dead r becuming alive n wat not!!!

    21. Romi on July 22, 2015 12:10 am

I like finite shows like that one ” kitni mohabbat hai ” Everest and ik haseena thi and
