The 4 am phone call || Chapter 2 – Her First Call || Ek Duje Ke Vaaste ||

Hey guyss..sorry for being a little late, I was busy cause exams!     
Somethings to be cleared:
Sumo and Suman share a same kind of voice, but Sumo’s voice has a little boldness and confidence, whereas Suman’s is a little shy and fumbly.

Chapter 2
Her First Call

‘When you hear her voice, you hear nothing else’        

I bought the phone and went home. I slept off straight as I was tired.
I woke up around 3:50. I wasn’t sleepy anymore so I started reading the book, “Noise of the past”. I had already read the first part of it, ” The Choice”. That was pretty great, so here im reading part two.
Then the most astonishing thing happened.  My phone rang. At 4 am? Who the f calls at 4 in the morning? I picked it up.
It was her. It was HER. Sumo.
I freaked out and kept the phone. Was it a prank call? Or someone who had similar voice as her’s? The phone rang again. When I heard her again I definitely knew it was her. That boldness, only she could carry. But wasn’t she like…DEAD?
‘Its me. Relax Suman.’ She said.
‘Stop prank calling me!’
‘ it’s not a prank call. Dont you know the time? Its 4am. Exactly opposite to the time I died. I’m here to help you,  with your life’
‘I can live my life’ I said, the way she said it hurt my ego. What the heck she means by that im here to help you with your life!
‘ im sorry if I hurt your ego, but babyy, you need help. I’ll help you with Shravan, I’ll help you with everything. Now listen, carefully, tomorrow morning go to address 1/8, Civil Road, Delhi. With your apartment money. …………’
I slept off listening to everything she said. It was definitely a prank call. She said that Shravan would talk to me! Huh! SHRAVAN would talk to me, never! It was just weird.

Next morning.

I still wasn’t over that trauma of the night.  What if all that was true? Anh, couldn’t be. How can a person know everything? I got dressed and took an auto, uggh. Finding auto is a nightmare here, but I got one. Travelling through the auto, I noticed that I was on the civil road. This isint my route. I enquired the bhaiyya and he said that route was to prevent traffic. Her words came on my mind.

1/8, Civil Road… I looked around and saw a house 2/6.. as we moved forward, the numbers decreased, and my curiosity increased. I told bhaiyya to stop and wait for a minute,  I walked upto the house. 1/8. I rang the doorbell but then noticed that the door was locked. I turned and noticed my landlord, he was in shock.

‘How did you reach here? Have you been following me? How dare you? Im calling the police!’

‘Oh hello, relax. Im here to give you your money. Here.’

I walked off, how did she know? I was getting more convinced that it was her, cause, she was like a tiny little James Bond of our family, she was expert at ‘pata-lagaoing’ stuff..

I went to the office.

I sat on my desk, when he came up to me.

‘Suman, right?’

I nodded, excitedly. Her words came true, moreover, Shravan talked to ME!

‘Yea, I just wanted to know that are you done with the files? I need to give it to boss’

‘Yes! Im free tonight at 8….. I mean.. uh…yea, here….files’

What did you do Suman! Kitni gadhi hai tu!
Oh shit, Shivani heard us.

‘Uh, Suman, we’re going out tonight? Right, Shravan?’ She said, annoyed and placing her hand on his muscular arms.

‘Unhh..okay’ I nodded. He smiled at my clumsiness, well, whatever may be the reason, that smile made my day.
I went home.
