The Episode starts with maharaj shivaji rao doing puja and says Om Namashya vay. He promises to win and not to let enemies sit peacefully. His people cheer for him and says har har mahadev. A voiceover tells that Maharaj Shivaji’s died and Mughals tried to snatch back the kingdom.

After 55 years, Peshwa’s father Balaji Vishwanath Bhat tells that Maharaj Shivaji Rao took oath/shapath, but he couldn’t fulfill his promise. He says Mughal emperor Aurangzeb betrayed Maharaj Shivaji Rao and injured him. He asks God to send someone to protect the kingdom else they will be ruined. Pandit comes and says he felt good seeing someone praying for their kingdom. He says whoever will write swaraj in this country will be your son only. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat says I have no son though. Pandit says destiny have chosen your son to embrace Swaraj and he will be born in your house. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat folds his hand with gratitude.

A woman Radha Bai (Balaji Vishwanath’s wife) is seen singing bhajan…She writes that she has reached the place and that her husband got a job and home also. She adds that a birds nest is also there, thought to get it removed then thought there should be a difference between Mughals and Marathis. We couldn’t make our own nest, no matter what…but can let someone’s nest be build. Someone knocks on her door. She comes out and asks who is there? Balaji Vishwanath Bhat comes and holds her from back. She is surprised. They have a talk about Aurangzeb. He gets upset and goes. She goes behind him. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat asks indirectly if she is pregnant. She hugs him and says yes. He gets glad. Radha Bai says how to give this child a good upbringing. He tells that their son will become a great emperor and will get Swaraj. She is happy too.

Later on days are passing by. Radha Bai says she is glad that they are having a home now. She feels baby kicks and says baby is kicking as if he is upset with someone. They hear people shouting as Aurangzeb’s men attacks Marathis. They get shocked. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat sees Aurangzeb’s men burning the houses, and lights his own house on fire. Radha Bai asks what you are doing. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat says this house is ours and only we have the right to burn it too. She cries painfully. They look at the burning house. They sit in the cart. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat starts driving. Radha Bai asks where we will go? He says we will search a new home. You might be thinking why didn’t I challenge Mughals and says we couldn’t risk the future/baby for a war.

Radha Bai says she is feeling bad as their house is burnt now, and their dream is also burnt. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat asks her to promise him to keep dreaming, even if she don’t apply kajal..and asks her to promise him. Aurangzeb’s men comes infront of them, and asks if they thought they can run away and asks to give jewellery. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat asks them not to touch his wife and gives away the jewellery. They ask him to give mangalsutra also. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat looks on and asks them to leave mangalsutra. Aurangzeb’s men asks if you will stop us and say brahmin’s hand have a pen and not sword. Men walks towards Radha Bai. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat kills them.

A woman ( second wife of Chatrapati Shivaji Rao) is seen crying and says even she is Chatrapati maharaj’s wife. First wife says all fingers are not same and that’s why all wives have no equal place in his life. Maharaj Chatrapati coughs and says my nephew Sahuji will sit on my singhasan. He asks his wife to promise him. She holds his hand assuring him. He dies. Their son cries seeing his father dead. She comes out and breaks her bangles, cries. Other wife also breaks her bangles. First wife says their dynasty doesn’t give them time to mourn and announces that she will fulfill last wish of her husband. She says Maharaj wanted their son to be the new ruler/king. Other person who knows about Maharaj’s last wish is shocked. They ask how can she make her son, a king instead of Shahuji. She says it was her husband’s last wish. She announces him next king.

Balaji Vishwanath and his wife Radha Bai take shelter in someone house. Someone talks about Chatrapati’s death. Chatrapati’s wife asks her son not to cry and handle the dynasty left by his father. Dhana ji comes to talk to her and apologizes to her if he thinks her wrong. He says many people wanted Shahuji to sit on the singhasan. She says even I want the same and it was my husband’s last wish, but Shahuji and his mum is jailed by Mughals. He is shocked. Aurangzeb says we have to keep Shahuji under arrest, to keep Marathis in our control. Chatrapati’s wife tells that Shahuji is in Aurangzeb’s jail since 11 years, and nobody knows if he is real Shahuji or not. She says nobody knows if he is real Shahuji or not. Dhana ji tells that there is one person who can free Shahuji from Aurangzeb’s clutches and tells his name as Balaji Vishwanath Bhat…..They look hopeful.
