Being together is all that matters by Vrushy (Chapter 3)

Chapter 3

Shivaay and Om had a hearty laugh after the girls left their sight. They had the last say in the conversation and that was what mattered. Both of them got into the car and saw Rudra eating chocolate, comfortably seated in the backseat.

“Anything serious ?!!” Rudra asked them.

” Nope. Enjoy your chocolate !!” Om said.

Shivaay’s mind traveled through the hazel, delicate eyes he met a few minutes ago, filled with a modest mix of emotions. He was looking forward to uncover her secrets that she had hidden under her eyes,if he ever had the chance to.

Om shaked Shivaay by his arm to bring him back. As Shivaay bounced back from his thoughts he started the car and drove towards the university.

As they drove into the campus, they could see people on either sides chattering with their buddies, the campus had greenery all over. The plants and the trees swayed themselves due to the wind. It was indeed a beautiful campus, just like they had seen in the brochures.

The shiny red Audi,attracted the people in the campus to wonder about the owners. Shivaay and Rudra’s faces lurked a smile as people started to look over to see who’s the car was of. While Om had a normal expression on as these things didn’t matter to him.

“You guys wait here, while I go to the office and get our schedules,” Rudra insisted, making Shivaay hit the brakes to stop the car, causing it to make a screeching sound alerting the staff in the office that they are here.

A woman from the office stepped out of the half opened door, and called out, “Is it the Oberoi brothers ?!!”

Shivaay rolled down the window and gently said, “Yes, and you are Ms. Rose,I suppose ?!!”

“Yes, park the car to the right, and meet me in the office,” she said strictly, making Rudra frown at her and gulp hard.

“Out of all the professors in the world, did it have to be her !!” Rudra whinned like a 3 year old, resisting to come to the office.

“Guys, I changed my mind, why don’t you go and get the papers while I wait here” He said to Shivaay and Om.

The duo chuckled as they left the car to get the schedules. As Shivaay and Om entered, they were greeted with Mr.Rose’s speech.

“Hello, Mr.Oberoi,here is yours and your brother’s schedule for the upcoming year. I hope the three of you will follow all the rules of the university, If you have any more questions, please contact me,” she ranted on and on about rules, life in campus, etc. Shivaay sat there with a deadpan expression while Om nodded like an obedient child.

Om and Shivaay headed back to the car, after 20 minutes to watch Rudra’s face filled with boredom. Om handed over his schedule to Rudra and Shivaay started the car.

“Oh God !!” Rudra cried out, as Shivaay parked the car in the university’s parking space.

“What now ?!!” Om asked patiently.

“We only have 1 class together in the whole day, for the whole semester,” Rudra answered.

“Its ohkay Rudra, no need to worry,” Shivaay replied back while getting out of the car, and grabbing his brown bag from the trunk.

The brothers walked to the entrance of the building, it was a magnificent campus, with an empty ground in front of the building.

” You guys go ahead, I need to use the washroom. Will meet you in 5.” Rudra said and hurried off in the main building’s direction.

Both Shivaay and Om chuckled at their little brothers inability to control the nature’s call.As they walked closer, both of them noticed a familiar car parked at the gates of the building.

Om walked further, glancing at the two girls sitting on top of the front part of the car. He sensed something familiar in their figure from the distance he was standing.When he got closer he realised the 2 girls were none other than the girls from the morning.

He looked at Shivaay with a sly smile playing on his face. While Shivaay was determined to blurt out a sorry from the mouth of the girls.

Ishana stretched her legs across the heated surface of the car.Her hands were crossed in front of her tightly securing the hair that escaped from her french braid. They were standing with their girl gang ragging the new freshers that came to the university.

Anika was sitting next to her, finalizing the escape plan if they ever got caught.

Ishana looked over to Anika, who gasped and her face was flushed with anger. Anika looked back at Ishana and indicated her to look forward, Ishana froze as she noticed the 2 boys from the morning walk towards them. What the hell were both of them doing here ?!! Did they follow them ?!! Why was Om and Mr.Know it all here ?!!

“You,” all the 4 screamed at each other in unision as the boys arrived near their car.

“Did you follow us ?!!” Anika snapped back at Shivaay angrily. Ishana held her back, as all the people nearby turned around to look at the happenings.

“Why would we follow you ?!!” Shivaay said back in stern voice, with his left eyebrows raised. Ishana noticed Om standing cooly beside his brother.

They seemed to be like pole opposites, Ishana thought as she tilted her head towards Tia, standing behind the boys and signalled her to see them.

“Excuse me ?!!,” Tia gently said, walking up to the boys.

“You both are new here ?!!” Tia asked the boys.

“Yes, we are ?!!” Om answered with a hint of hesitation.

“Great !! We all have a welcome tour planned for you,” Tia said taking them away from the car.

Anika was still staring at them in shock, while Ishana nudged her to gain her attention.

“Anu ?!!” she said and Anika responded immediately, “Yes”

“Come, let’s take them personally !!” Ishana volunteered in a firm voice with a determined expression, hopping of the car front.

“What ?!! Are you fine ?!!,” Anika asked shocked at her words, while she touched Ishana’s forehead to see if she had a fever to make her say random stuff.

Ishana sighed and pulled her sister off the car, saying, “Come let’s go.”

“Tia, wait !!” Ishana yelled out to Tia who had already gone halfway towards the building.

It seemed like she already started a conversation with the annoying boys. Ishana ran quickly towards them, dragging Anika from behind.

“Huh ?!!” Tia asked boggled, looking back to find answers to her confusions.

“How about we take these 2 boys, you see the rest,” Ishana said eyeing the boys, while Anika rolled her eyes in frustration.

“Sure,” Tia said casually, walked a few steps before turning back and said.

“Oh, by the way, this is Omkara.” she pointed to Om whom the girls already knew from the morning.

Tia pointed to the other boy “And this is Shivaay !!” Anika filled the name in her mind, vowing to take revenge for the morning incident.

Anika was happy at the fact that Tia forgot to mention their names to the boys, her body filled with a fresh kind of excitement as she remembered their prank and the fact that she was going to watch the boys fall into it.

“So, you guys are here to study, we thought you were following us. We sincerely apologise,” Anika dramatically said with a fake smile.

Ishana shook her head in disbelief from her sudden change of behaviour. She noticed Om averting his gaze from hers as she locked hers on him.

Apologise ?!!, but no Sorry, this girl really has a big ego, but mine is not any less. I am going to make her say sorry to me, for sure, Shivaay promised himself.

Rudra had been wandering in the main building since the last 15 mins but was not able to find the washroom. As he turned right, he bumped into a soft wollen fabric and fell on top of it.

As he looked down it was a girl, she was the same girl from the morning. The one he had teased and their car had crashed into. She had her eyes closed. He softly blew on her face which caused her to open her eyes. And Rudra momentarily forget where he was. She had baby like eyes. Round and big. Crystal clear.

She cleared her throat and pushed Rudra to the side. Rudra got up from the ground first and extended his hand towards her to help her get up. She looked at his hand and then at his face. At last she got up on her own and dusted her dress.

As she was about to walk off, Rudra spoke.
” Hey, I am Rudra. I am sorry for what happened in the morning and also for now.” He said as softly as he could.

” Its ohkay. ” Soumya said and started to walk off. But Rudra interrupted again.

” Can you tell me where the washroom is ?!!” He asked.

An evil smile crept on Soumya’s lips which was unseen by Rudra as he was facing her back. She thought of it as a great opportunity to take revenge for what happened in the morning. She had a hearty laugh inwardly thinking about what she was going to do to him !!

Firstly, I want to thank all of you for showing such great amount of love and appreciation for my work. I am really glad that all of you liked it. In case there are any silent readers, I request them to comment as well. Since the comments really encourage the writer.

Also the pace of the story is a bit slow as its the starting. But don’t worry as the story moves on, the pace will also increase. I would also like to add that I am totally against ragging but have included it in this FF just as a fun quotient.
