She looked outside the window gloomily. Her new bedroom was larger than her previous one. She had found the keys of the building in his car…it was specially kept for her was what the driver had informed.
‘why does he want a murderer like me to work for him?’ she asked herself. Suddenly the word ‘Murderer’ dawned upon her. She closed her eyes as those dark memories filled up her mind.
“cummon Swara, we have already won the case. You don’t need to leave Mumbai”
“no, its urgent” swara replied while packing her bag. ” and I have got a job over Calcutta so…”
“No Swara. NO. I wont let you live with that false guilt”
” Ragini i am not leaving Mumbai coz i feel i am guilty but bcoz i have got a good job over there”
“Then….Then Il find a better job for you over here. Will that do?”
Swara glared at Ragini. “NO”
“plzzz yaar don’t do this with me. We are supposed to celebrate today.”
“yes, we are supposed to celebrate as you have won your first case over that renowned lawyer”
” then what is all these?”
Swara had left that house might be for more than 2 months and she already started missing her bestie. She remembered Ragini’s extremely serious expression when she was fighting for her, to prove her innocent.
“its a straight cut Self Defense case, My Lord.” Ragini had screamed out in that black coat.
That one incident had made her life go upside down. She closed her eyes again and to her it seemed as if she was slowly getting covered by some black dark smoke which was coming from no where.
She was standing there in the middle of the crowd holding a holder of the metro train. She was busy looking outside…den suddenly she could feel his hands…it was too uncomfortable…she could feel 100’s and 1000’s of woman screaming out inside her and instructing her to fight back and then then th……
She was dragged back to the present by the buzzing of her mobile phone.
“how are you?”
She didn’t reply.
“okay, Il take your silence as f9”
“what do you want now?”
“your mission starts from tomorrow”
She froze for a second. Her job, at last.
“Kill Mr. Durga Prasad Maheshwari’s secretory, Mr. Soumok Ghoshwami”
She didn’t text anything for a while as she debated if she shall ask it or not.
At last she wrote.
“isn’t Mr. Durga Prasad your father?”
She could see the two blue lines at the side of her message which meant that he had seen it…but there was no reply. It was past 5 minutes but still there was no reply.
“Good luck with your work”
At last he sent it.
She looked at the text and then looked at the pitch dark room around her.
‘wasn’t i afraid of dark?’ she tried to remember if she was or not.
