Swara challenging Sanskaar
Swara began storming ,still seething.
Sanskaar’s voice checked her.
Sanskaar : I was not wrong, Swara! You want me as much as I want you. The kiss proved that. I could sense your desire… This is not love. When are you going to accept that?
Swara stopped and turned half smiling.
Swara : Sanskaar! Ek baat bolun?
Sanskaar (warily nodding) : Yes?
Swara (coming closer to Sanskaar) : If you really want to hurt me, Why don’t you try telling lies properly? (seeing Sanskaar’s look) I don’t know if it’s because you’re such a poor liar or if it’s because I love you so much. But it’s no use lying to me. It doesn’t work.
Sanskaar (angry) : That’s enough Swara! Stop telling me you love me. IT’S NOT TRUE!
Swara (shouting) : IT ISN’T? HOW DO YOU KNOW?
Sanskaar : Because I DON’T DESERVE THE LOVE!
Swara stopped, shocked. He doesn’t deserve it? What did he mean?
Sanskaar (his voice soft, a touch of desperation) : Just hate me. It will make it easier for you. We can live our lives separately. Have a perfect society marriage. We can have a son……
Swara (furious) : SHUT UP! Society marriage? Have children, Be civil with each other, have a sham marriage… That’s it?
Sanskaar turned away from her and recoiled. He hated the idea of that kind of marriage… But that’s what would happen. He WOULD make sure of that.
Swara : You know, The day you came to Kolkata from Darjeeling, you told me that we would have a marriage filled with respect and friendship. That I would be a good bahu. And though, I loved you even then, I agreed. Because I thought that we would have a happy marriage. Aaj I realised that you LIED to me. You’ve been lying since day 1. Friendship and respect it seems. Trust toh hai hi nahi, Toh respect kahan se aaega? Lied about our life, lied about my future, lies… Lies… LIES!
Sanskaar stared at her from the side of his eyes. She seemed exhausted. In barely one day of marriage he had reduced her into exhaustion.
Suddenly Sanskaar couldn’t bear it! He had to GET OUT OF THERE… He was suffocating in this house. With Swara’s confessions, their arguments, their feelings… He couldn’t stand it!
Sanskaar (muttering) : I have to go…
Swara : One last thing.
Sanskaar paused, but didn’t look at her.
Swara (moving to face him) : Try and make me hate you all you want. It won’t make me stop loving you. I don’t remember if I have told you this… So listen. I can NEVER stop loving you. Hate is just love gone bad! Hate doesn’t mean I won’t worry about you. It doesn’t mean that our marriage will become a sham one. THE REAL OPPOSITE OF LOVE IS APATHY. Jaante ho apathy ka matlab? It means Not caring about that person. It means that you don’t give a DAMN about that person.
Sanskaar raised his eyes to look at her.
Swara : Nothing you say can make me hate you. But, Even if you succeed, Just know that I will still be in love with you. As for making me not care about you anymore, Don’t even think of that. This love has become an integral part of me now. It’s like if I can’t love you, Swara is NOT THERE. SHE IS DEAD!
Sanskaar was besides her in an instant, his hand over her mouth.
Sanskaar (fiercely) : I don’t want to EVER MENTION about your death.
Swara (whispering from beneath his hand, her eyes boring into his) : Why? Why should it affect you?
Sanskaar (removing his hand ) : Because you are a Maheshwari.. And I have certain duties because of that. Including hoping that you be alright.
Swara’s eyes clouded with disappointment. She moved away from him and gestured for him to go. He looked at her like he wanted to tell something, but at the last minute, let it go. He left, both of them hurting.. Both of them shielding their fears.
Swara moved shakily to the bed post and stumbled and sat down. Why was this even happening?

She got up and walked around the room slowly. She remembered their first date, their karaoke… And the tears slowly fell. Try as she did, She couldn’t stop it.
Kho gaya, gum ho gaya
Waqt se churaya tha jo
Apna banaya tha..
Ho tera, woh mera
Saath nibhaaya tha jo
Apna banaya tha..
Meanwhile Sanskaar took the car and left. He felt like killing himself. It was torture being like this with Swara! He stopped the car at a corner and got out. He just stared at the moving cars and other vehicles going at top speed. As he stared, a couple on the opposite end of the road caught his eye. They were laughing and buying ice cream from a vendor on the street. He averted his eyes at the sight. The fierce longing to bring Swara here jolted him and he got into the car and moved away, a single tear escaping.

3 DAYS LATER
Swara and Sanskaar were not talking to each other. Swara did not like this and did her best to engage him in conversation but he simply ignored her. It was like talking to a wall.
Swara was out of her mind. She had taunted him, done everything she could to make him talk. She had even tried the cold shoulder with him, but it seemed to work too well.
Swara : At this rate, We will be the couple who have nothing to say to each other.
She was in her studio, well her work place, but it sounded cooler to call it studio. She had cleaned out a room in the house for her projects and so that she could have a quiet place to sit and draw. No one was allowed inside without her permission.
She sat there drawing when suddenly, a voice burst out.
Sanskaar : SWARA MAHESHWARI!
Swara chuckled. Fed up of their behaviour, She had taken measures into her own hands and had done something.
She could hear Sanskaar walking out from their room. Swara had decided to adopt a new attitude. She patiently waited for him as he stomped through the long corridor. She winced. He was really angry.
Swara (unfeelingly) : Good! He deserves it.
Sanskaar placed a hand on the knob of the door but it didn’t open.
Sanskaar (shouting) : SWARA! Open this door at once.
Swara took her time. Sanskaar could see her silhouette walking towards him, SLOWLY. He pounded on the door.
Sanskaar : SWARA! blo*dy, I KNOW you can walk faster than that.
Swara opened the door finally and walked out, immediately closing the door behind her. She didn’t want him to look at anything inside.
Swara (bored) : Yes?
Sanskaar’s eyes bulged out. What was this girl up to? He held up his right hand in which he was holding something. Swara saw it and burst out laughing.
Sanskaar (really angry now) : Do you know that I have a very important meeting in an hour?
Swara (in an impressed voice) : I know. With the Luthra Group of Industries na? I’m impressed. My husband is SO smart. He has got the LUTHRA GROUP to do business with him. I’m proud of you, Baby!
Sanskaar : Are you mocking me?
Swara (with round eyes) : Mock? you? Why would I?
Sanskaar : Toh phir yeh kya hai?
Swara stared at Sanskaar’s ties all tangled up together and forming a huge jumbled mess and began laughing again.
Swara : Wow… It’s a huge mess, isn’t it?
Sanskaar (sarcastically) : No, Of course not! It’s only going to take me a second to sort through this blo*dy thing.
Swara : Well, Good for you then! All the best, Mr Maheshwari.
She opened the door knob to enter her studio again, but Sanskaar caught her free hand and pulled it. She twisted around and neatly fell on Sanskaar’s chest. She looked up into his eyes and melted. She wanted tobe like that forever.
But, Sanskaar pulled her away from his chest but held her firmly.
Swara : you’re hurting me. Leave me!
Sanskaar (annoyed) : I don’t care. You deserve to be shaken in my opinion.
Swara (indignantly) : Well, In my opinion…
Sanskaar : Enough. I don’t have time for this. Why did you do this?
Swara : Mr Maheswari, How do you know I did this?
Sanskaar rolled his eyes, frustrated.
Sanskaar : Swara! I don’t have time for games. Now untangle this mess for me.
Swara : Your mess, You do it. I have nothing to do with this. Anyways, Why should I do your dirty work? Who am I to you?
Sanskaar : Goddamn it… You’re my wife.
Swara (disbelievingly) : Wife? Suddenly, How did I become your wife? I thought I was the person who was madly in love with you. And to whom, you’re lying. Lying every day, every hour, every minute and every second.
Sanskaar left Swara and walked away. She smiled triumphantly. She waited as Sanskaar borrowed Adarsh’s tie and went downstairs. She watched him go out the door.
Swara (muttering) : 1…. 2…. 3….
Sanskaar (shouting) : SWARA MAHESHWARI!
Swara began laughing and hurried down. Sanskaar was going to be livid with her. She COULDN’T wait.
Sanskaar was staring open-mouthed at his car. Swara ran out and stood next to him.
Swara (feigning innocence) : Yes Patidev?
Sanskaar snorted.. Whether it was with rage or disbelief he didn’t know himself. He pointed towards the car.
Sanskaar : Puncturing my tires? That too, all of them? ARE YOU NUTS, WOMAN?
Swara (surprised) : I’m sure I’m not nuts. If I’m nuts, Wouldn’t squirrels be here by now?
Sanskaar : Haan sure… Mock me. Who cares if the Luthra Group cancels their deal with me? It would only be a loss of few thousand crores. Nothing much.
Swara : Awesome!
Sanskaar : No… NOT AWESOME SWARA! This is not funny. You can’t AFFECT MY BUSINESS! This is all your fault. Mom and Badi Ma have taken the driver and the spare car. Adarsh and Laksh have theirs. Stupid Laksh.. Who asked him to take his car to Darjeeling?
Swara : First of all, Don’t call MY best friend stupid. He’s way better than you. Second, How is this my fault?
Sanskaar : Why did you puncture the tyres?
Swara (her eyes twinkling) : It’s really fun. You should try it sometime. The hissing noise it makes… Wow.. There’s nothing like it. Try karoge na?
Sanskaar : Swara Maheshwari! What the hell is wrong with you? How could you jeopardise my deal?
Swara’s eyes became serious in an instant.
Swara (quietly) : Don’t you dare talk to me about jeopardising, Mr Maheshwari. You don’t have the right anymore. You PLAYED with my life. You are PLAYING with my life. It has come to a standstill. I can neither forget you… Nor will you allow me to be yours. So don’t you dare talk about jeopardising.
Sanskaar (hating the words that were about to come out of his mouth) : It doesn’t have to be so bad, Swara! I told you… We can have a lovely marriage. One that doesn’t involve feelings, One that doesn’t have complications. 2 children will be enough for you na?
Swara (going red at his words) : Mr Sanskaar Maheshwari! SHUT YOUR blo*dy MOUTH BEFORE I PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE.
Sanskaar became silent.
Swara : What has happened to you? I thought you were the best person in the world. I never thought that I would come to like you. But I did. I liked you, Then I loved you. I love you, not loved. But why did you change? How can you let your past affect our future? Do you seriously not care one bit for me?
Sanskaar wanted to kneel down immediately and beg for her forgiveness. He wanted to tell her just how much he loved her and his true intentions.
Sanskaar : I told you, I don’t care about you. I only want you. I want you really bad!
Swara (disgusted) : Believe your lie all you want. I know what’s the truth. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a drawing to complete. And you… You have 35 minutes left for your meeting. And by the way, I will tell you one thing.
Swara : You know the Bade Papa for whom you’re doing all this? If I’m not wrong about him, I’m pretty sure he would be disappointed in you if he saw you today.
Sanskaar watched her blankly as she entered the house.
Sanskaar : Is this true? Will Bade Papa really hate me for this?
Guys, I’m really sorry! I don’t know if the spark is here or not. I have done my best with this. If it is missing again, I wil bring it back soon…
And I’m really really not good with this hate track which is why I think it’s not nice anymore… So sorry for that again..
Please do help me..
I need an idea where Sanskaar really manages to hurt Swara!
