Precap: Chakor’s first day at school and first time seeing Suraj.
Chakor was still lost in thoughts about Suraj but the bell rang for the next class. She checked her schedule and the next subject was gym. She read it and had a big smile on her face.*Gym, yesss I love it*She put her lunch away and said bye to her friends, unfortunately none of them have gym right now so she was alone and a bit sad but that wasn’t going to affect her gym, she thought. Chakor followed her map and then changed into her gym wear. She ran inside the gym happily and the first person she saw was Suraj. He stood there in shorts and loose normal t-shirt but he didn’t look normal, he stood out with his fair skin and strong body. Chakor was staring at Suraj but the instructor came with a basketball.
“Chakor, we are playing basketball. Are you ready?”He said.
She looked at him.*did he have to interrupt? But let’s concentrate on the game now*
“Yes. I am ready. Whose team am I on” she asked.
The instructor looked at the paper in his hand. “You are on Suraj’s team” he said.
“What” Chakor said shockingly. * So much for concentrating* she thought.
“Any problem” the instructor asked.
“N…No” she said coming back to her senses.
“Ok, you can go and stand with his team and here you go your team’s red pennies” he said as she handed her a basket.
“Thank you” Chakor said as she slowly walked to the corner where Suraj was standing.
“Hi” Suraj said when he saw her coming.
“Are you the new girl” he asked.
“Yes, my name is Chakor” she said suddenly with a lot of confidence.
“Hi, I am Suraj” He introduced himself.
“I think everyone knows that” Chakor muttered under her breath.
Suraj heard it but he pretended like he didn’t.
“Did you say something” he said innocently.
“No” she said.
Ok, then Chakor. Are you good at basketball” he said while bouncing a basketball.
“Probably better than you expect me to be” she said crossing her arms.
He laughed and Chakor was amazed by his laugh. He tilted his head back and laughed heartily.* It was deep sounding. Mellow. Calming. Like a deep river washing over a path of stones.*
Then the whistle blew and the game started. Chakor started the game and ran like wind to the net but the other team was surrounding her. She looked at Suraj and passed the ball. He catches it and shoot. The rest of the game past, Suraj and Chakor’s team winning. The instructor ended the game and Chakor and Suraj did a high-five.
“All because of me” Suraj grinned.
“Ha, ha. You wish” Chakor replied.
It’s a little short but I wish you like it.
