[2 days later]
So here comes the day when I’m officially gonna loose Kunj to someone else! But it shouldn’t matter me. As decided, he’s just a stranger, he will remain one!
“Twinkle, go get ready! Don’t you know Khyati and her family can be coming anytime and also, check up if Kunj is ready or no!” bebe said.
I couldn’t deny her words so with no other choice, I replied in a yes! I walked towards Kunj’s room acting all strong and confident. I knock the door.
“Oh, come in”
I enter the room and see Kunj standing there shirtless doing something with his mobile.
“Can you wear your cloths?”
“What what? I’m not your to be wife that you’re standing here shirtless! Why did you even let me in?”
“Why is it bothering you so much?”
“Oh my god! You’re impossible! Btw, do you need any help? Bebe asked me to ask you if you have any problem or any issue or anything”
“Nothing so far!”
“Good! Bye then. Better get ready quickly or else the engagement wouldn’t take place and I wouldn’t want that to happen”
“Don’t you worry! I’ll get engaged today for sure”
Saying this, I walk off his room and pat myself on the back because of my little brave act that I did inside.
While I was going to my room, bebe calls me again.
“Twinkle, I have a gift for you!”
She hands me a box wrapped beautifully.
“Okay, so there’s a dress in this and I want you to wear this today”
“But bebe, I already have a dress! What was the need of this?”
“No questioning! You are wearing this! The argument is over”
“If you don’t wear it, I’ll consider that you’re not my daughter anymore”
“Lekin bebe …”
“The choice is yours” bebe leaves as soon as she says this.
I looked at the mirror and couldn’t stop admiring on how pretty I looked, I swear. Bebe had given me such a beautiful lehenga, I couldn’t take my eyes off it.
I was dressed in a creamish crop top kinda blouse which had a deep back and some simple design on the front while the skirt was grass green in color with some light embroidery by the border. I wore a combination of green and silver jhumkas while my hair was left open with curls by the end. With some really light makeup which included winged liner and mascara with some bit of eye shadow, I was all set for the engagement.
Honestly, I thought I looked way too pretty for such a function but I couldn’t go against bebe’s will so, no choice.
The guest had already started coming while bebe, Usha aunty and the rest of Sachdev’s were busy attending their guests.
“Go check on if Kunj is ready and bring him down” Usha aunty told me.
I was again forced to go to his room. I was pretty annoyed seeing him already. Although I have to stay strong but that doesn’t change the fact that I actually still love him. How would I stop loving someone so easily? I could I forget the memories? How could I let go of all this so quickly? But whatever, I have to stay strong and act like it doesn’t affect me anymore!
I walk to his room and I see him smiling while he looked at his phone.
“Uh sorry! I didn’t notice you Twinkle. Btw, you look so pretty!”
“Sorry what? I guess you’re complimenting the wrong person! I’m not your girlfriend or even you would be wife so keep your compliments for her and not me! Also, almost all the guest have arrived so your mom is calling you down”
I slam the door and walk off.
The hall was completely crowded with people talking. It seemed like everyone awaited for the function to begin. After 10 ish seconds, Kunj was finally all dressed up and ready and was in the hall! Everyone complimented on how great he looked and honestly, he looked hot af.
After a while, Khyati and her parents arrived. I was really confused. She looked really simple, with no tam-jham when it’s her engagement. I brushed my thoughts away and focused on seeing if everything was alright.
One thing really disturbed me all this while. Everyone was complimenting me more than they did to Khyati. She has to be in the spotlight right? So why am I getting what she currently needs to get? Whatever, I’ll rather find bhai, he was looking for me since pretty long or else I’ll be gone.
I began hunting for bhai because it seemed like he was playing hide and seek with me. I mean, he was nowhere to be found.
Suddenly, all the lights fade out and we all hear a voice.
“Kisi ne sach kaha hai, beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder. Her eyes, they’re so bright and radiant. Her smile, so alluring. Her body, just fine. Her fingers, perfectly fits with mine. Her face, epitome of beauty.
?Your hand fits in mine like it’s made just for me
But bear this in mind, it was meant to be
And I’m joining up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks
And it all makes sense to me
I know you’ve never loved the crinkles by your eyes when you smile
You’ve never loved your stomach or your thighs, the dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine
But I’ll love them endlessly
I won’t let these little things
Slip out of my mouth
But if I do
Oh it’s you
They add up to
I’m in love with you
And all these little things?”
